Neil Lennon will inform Hibernian on Wednesday if he wishes to become their next manager.
Sky Sports News HQ understands there will be no announcement on Tuesday regarding whether Lennon will decide to take the job.
However, the club have targeted Lennon as their top choice to take over from Alan Stubbs, who left to join Rotherham at the end of the season.
The former Celtic and Bolton boss wants to bring in Garry Parker as his assistant and negotiations are continuing with the club.
Lennon met with Hibernian chief executive Leeann Dempster and the club's head of football operations George Craig on Friday to discuss the position, and is interested in the role but is seeking assurances over the club's budget, according to Sky sources.
The 44-year-old is set to carry out media work at Euro 2016 and, with Hibs' players back in pre-season training in a couple of weeks' time before they start their Europa League campaign, the club are looking to make an appointment as soon as possible.
Hibs will have to turn to plan B if Lennon decides against moving to Easter Road and they have been keeping their due diligence on a number of candidates. However, Lennon remains top of their list and they hope for decision as soon as possible.
