Spain

Long-term Barcelona target Philippe Coutinho could move to the Nou Camp in January. The player's agent visited the Liga leaders to discuss a potential winter move and are confident a deal can be struck with Liverpool. A fee of €150m is being mooted and the only thing to be finalised is how it will be paid. (Sport)

Cristiano Ronaldo wants his wage increased after seeing Lionel Messi sign a mega-deal with Barcelona and Neymar handed a huge contract to move to Paris Saint-Germain. The five-time Ballon d'Or winner believes he deserves a wage hike and would also like to see his release clause dropped so to leverage the club if he ever needs to. (Marca)

Italy

Liverpool target Sime Vrsaljko won't be moving to Merseyside next month. The 25-year-old Croatian full-back will be staying with Atletico Madrid with the Liga club unable to replace what he offers the squad during the January window. (Corriere dello Sport)

Inter Milan have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Bologna forward Simone Verdi as the club's sporting director claims the 25-year-old does not want to leave. Verdi, also rumoured to be a West Ham transfer target, is having an impressive season and is averaging a goal every three matches in Serie A. (Sky Italia)

Inter Milan and Valencia could be about to do business yet again. During the summer the two clubs traded three players with Jeison Murillo and Geoffrey Kondogbia moving to Spain and Joao Cancelo making the switch to Serie A. The two clubs are now in negotiations over the futures of Joao Mario, with Valencia wanting to sign the midfielder, while Inter Milan are interested in highly-rated youngster Carlos Soler. Germany

Bayern Munich have made their first winter signing after confirming that Hoffenheim forward Sandro Wagner would be arriving at the Allianz Arena. The 30-year-old striker arrives as a backup to Robert Lewandowski and is the third Hoffenheim player to make the switch to the champions inside six months, following Sebastian Rudy and Niklas Sule who joined the Bavarian champions in the summer. Anthony Ujah has returned to the Bundesliga, re-signing for the first German club he played for - Mainz. They beat off competition from across Europe to bring the 27-year-old back from China and will be hopeful he can rediscover the form that convinced Liaoning Whowin to part with £13million to secure his services.
