The winter transfer window does not open until January 1, but now Christmas is over, clubs across Europe are busy planning and tentative negotiations will have begun in preparation.

Spain

Ernesto Valverde has asked Barcelona to push on with providing him with reinforcements. Philippe Coutinho is still their top target, but they would also move for Yerry Mina of Palmeiras and Matthijs De Ligt of Ajax if they can't land the Liverpool playmaker. (AS)

Yannick Carrasco is looking for a move after his minutes at Atletico Madrid have been cut this season. With Vitolo arriving in January, the door is open and he has been linked with Bayern Munich and several English clubs are known to be interested. (AS)

Barcelona are keen to offload Arda Turan and the former Arsenal transfer target has been linked with a move to Besiktas, but any deal with the Turkish club has been played down by their president, saying they already have players in his position. (Marca)

Former Newcastle United and Montpellier defender Mapou Yanga M'Biwa could be looking for a new club next month. Failure to secure minutes in the Lyon defence has opened the door to a move and Inter Milan and Fiorentina have shown interest. He could cost around €5million. (L'Equipe)

Germany

Turkish giants Fenerbahce and Galatasaray are interested in securing a move for Hakan Calhanoglu this winter. Fitness problems have stopped him finding his feet in Italy after a €22million move from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer and the former Chelsea transfer target could make the move to gain more playing time.
