The January transfer window has closed over a week ago but that has not stopped speculation surrounding many players' futures.

Our friends at Football Whispers have scoured the continental press to bring you the latest transfer talk and big stories from across Europe.

Robert Lewandowski has tried to cool talk linking him with a summer move to Real Madrid. "I know the situation, I hear the same speculation every year," the Bayern Munich striker said. "These rumours do not interest me and I will not say anything more. I have no idea [where they have come from]." (Bild)

Eden Hazard, who has been subject of Real Madrid transfer talk, has failed to rule out a move to the Spanish champions, claiming Zinedine Zidane is his idol. When asked about the possibility of joining Real, he laughed and said: "In football, you never know. I'm happy at Chelsea and focused to the maximum on them." (Marca)

Former Ballon d'Or winner Jean-Pierre Papin thinks Real Madrid should have brought in a striker in January given Karim Benzema's poor form. He said: "Personally, I would have signed a No 9, but that's my point of few. I think Madrid needed to strengthen what they've got there. Look at Benzema, he scored a lot of goals and now nothing's coming off for him. He doesn't even look dangerous, which is very strange." (AS)

When Inter Milan confirm the signing of Lautaro Martinez from Racing Club de Avellaneda in the coming days, the 20-year-old Argentine forward's buyout clause will be €120m (£105m). That will be higher than his future team-mate Mauro Icardi's, whose clause is set at €110m (£96.6m). (AS)

China boss Marcello Lippi believes Inter's lack of quality is catching up with them. The Nerazzurri were unbeaten for the first four months of the season but have now gone eight games without a win. "I understand the fans' unhappiness: even this season, after a great start, has been extinguished, deflated," their ex-manager said.

"[Luciano] Spalletti had created good psychological assumptions, but let's be honest, barring Icardi, who puts away 90 per cent of his chances, they have good players but not extraordinary ones." (Gazzetta dello Sport)
