The EFL season got underway this weekend but the return of competitive action hasn't slowed the transfer market as clubs scramble to piece together their squads.

Spain

Barcelona have entered the race for Arsenal transfer target Jean-Michael Seri. The Nice midfielder, who can play on the right or in the centre, has been linked with a switch to the Emirates Stadium throughout the summer. The 26-year-old scored seven times for the Ligue 1 side last season. (Mundo Deportivo)

Former Manchester United transfer target Antoine Griezmann pledged loyalty to Atletico Madrid in light of the transfer ban and he was not the only one. However, winger Yannick Carrasco is not so keen to stay and could leave for Bayern Munich if their interest solidifies. (Don Balon)

Barcelona could be about to lose another player thanks to his release clause. Versatile midfielder Sergi Roberto is the player in question. The Spaniard is a Manchester United, Monaco and Chelsea transfer target - available for just £36m per his contract. (Don Balon)

Barcelona are "confident" that Liverpool will accept their latest offer for Philippe Coutinho, which is worth €100m (£90m) . Negotiations are said to be in the final stretch and the deal could be completed by Tuesday. Coutinho would then travel to Barcelona for a medical, having agreed a five-year deal. It is reported that Coutinho did not play in the friendly against Athletic Bilbao on Saturday to avoid suffering an injury before the move. (El Mundo Deportivo)

Germany

Michael Reschke has been appointed as Stuttgart's new sporting director, leaving the same role at Bayern Munich. Stuttgart boss Wolfgang Dietrich said: "I am proud that we could get him for VfB Stuttgart. He is an absolute blessing for our club." (Bild)

Italy

AC Milan's summer spending shows no signs of slowing. The Rossoneri have a seven-man shortlist as they look to bolster their striking options. Top of that list is Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Also under consideration are wantaway Chelsea forward Diego Costa, Andrea Belotti, former United hitman Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Nikola Kalinic. (Gazzetta dello Sport)

Juventus have upped their offer for Lazio's Keita Balde Diao. The Bianconeri have reportedly now submitted a proposal worth €20m (£18m) up front with a further €5m (£4.5m) in bonuses. Lazio president Claudio Lotito wants a straight €30m (£27m) for the in-demand attacker, though. (Calciomercato)

Southampton look set to complete the signing of Juventus midfielder Mario Lemina after agreeing a fee of €18m (£16.2m). Previously a Watford transfer target, the 23-year-old Gabonese will undergo a medical on Monday before sealing his switch to the Premier League. (Corriere dello Sport)

Napoli are reportedly close to completing a loan deal for Manchester City prospect Oleksandr Zinchenko. The 20-year-old attacking midfielder spent last season at PSV Eindhoven but is unlikely to get minutes at the Etihad Stadium yet. A stint in Naples would guarantee game time. (Calciomercato)

France

Talk of Adrien Rabiot extending his contract with PSG is premature. The midfielder, who has a year left to run on his existing deal, said of negotiations: "We talked with the sports director (Antero Henrique) and said we would meet again later. It's on standby." (L'Equipe)

Long-term Inter Milan transfer target Dalbert looks set to finally join the Nerazzurri. The Nice left-back could complete his switch as soon as Monday. A five-year deal worth €1.8m (£1.6m) per season has been agreed with the Ligue 1 side set for a €20m (£18m) pay-out for the Brazilian. (L'Equipe)
