Zinedine Zidane has played down speculation that he could replace Rafa Benitez as Real Madrid head coach.
Benitez's position appears to be under threat after the humiliating 4-0 El Clasico home defeat to Barcelona on Saturday.
Zidane is currently in charge of Real Madrid Castilla, the club's reserve team, and has been tipped as a future first-team boss.
However, speaking on Sunday, the French legend said he is not yet ready for the role.
"I am the manager of Castilla, Benitez is the manager of the first team, and things are fine like that," Zidane commented. "I have a long way to go, and, anyway, a manager is never really fully formed.
"What I am doing, as I did when I was a player, I am doing bit by bit. I am not in a hurry for anything. My current job is Castilla and I am going to continue with it."
Zidane, who made more than 150 appearances over a five-year spell as a player with Real, has been in charge of Castilla since June 2014.
Asked if he stayed in the summer with a view to managing the first team in the future, he said: "I stayed because of Castilla. Last year, I finished up feeling that there was something missing.
"I am quite stubborn and when I don't meet an objective, I feel I have to keep on with it."
