Dimitri Payet admits the fans now expect him to score from every free-kick he takes, after he netted another set-piece stunner as France beat Cameroon on Monday night.

The West Ham playmaker struck in the 90th minute to secure a 3-2 friendly win for the Euro 2016 hosts, his second in as many games for France.

"When you score one, then two, then three, the crowd expect that you score every time," he said, according to L'Equipe. "That doesn't always happen, even though it worked again tonight.

"I don't know if my goal rescued us but it allowed us to win when their second goal had been a bit contentious.

"It was special for me to come back here to this stadium, where I spent two beautiful seasons. And I was happy to feel the fans get behind us."

While France coach Didier Deschamps admitted Cameroon caused his side difficulties in their Euro 2016 warm-up win in Nantes.

"There have been problems because the opponent has qualities," he said in his post-match press conference. "They have not thought to defend. There are things we can do better, of course.

"For some it is a long time without competition. We will look at what to fix. I was surprised by this team because I watched a lot of their recent games. I found them much better than in their last matches I've seen."
