Quick on the heels of 13-year-old Karamoko Dembele’s Celtic U20 debut, Galatasaray handed a first-team debut to 14-year-old academy prospect Mustafa Kapi in a friendly against Levski Sofia.
Kapi, who was born in 2002, was given his senior bow when he was sent on to replace striker Sinan Gumus by Dutch coach Jan Olde Riekerink in the 89th minute in the Georgi Asparuhov Stadium.
Galatasaray, who were playing a friendly to keep up fitness and blood a couple of youngster during the international break, won the game 2-0 thanks to goals from Josue and Hamit Altintop.
The midfielder, who turned 14 in August, has been with Galatsaray's academy for three years after joining from hometown club Denizlispor in 2013.
And it's fair to say Kapi was absolutely delighted with his brief cameo appearance.
He posted on Instagram after the match: "Tonight is the happiest day of my life.
"Achieving a dream to wear this great jersey and to experience the dressing room and first hand of my teacher Jan Olde Riekerink.
"Thanks for having confidence in me and I will continue to work hard. Good night."
Mustafa's debut follows 13-year-old Dembele making an appearance seven years above his age group as a late substitute for Celtic's U20 team against Hearts last Monday.
