Glenn Hoddle believes everyone at QPR needs to work together to stop the club slipping even further down the Football League

Former QPR coach Glenn Hoddle fears the club could drop down another division if the structure is not corrected.

The R's were relegated to the Championship for the second time in three seasons after their 6-0 defeat by Manchester City on Super Sunday, their 14th away defeat of the season.

And Hoddle, who left QPR as first team coach after manager Harry Redknapp's departure in January, says financial problems could spell danger for next season in the second tier.

Although QPR filed accounts in March showing a loss of £9.8million during their last season in the Football League, that figure was reached by writing off loans of £60million – a move that might not be permitted under Financial Fair Play regulations.

Hoddle said on Super Sunday: "There needs to be a revamp from the top of the club right the way through. They need to get hold of the reins pretty quickly.

"What I do not want to see for QPR is something where they find themselves in a financial problem, and they slip down again.

"And they've really got to work hard from top to bottom, work together and get a structure right. I think [director of football] Les Ferdinand has a big say in that.

"The most important people are going to be their solicitors and lawyers over the next 12 months."

Hoddle admits manager Chris Ramsey's job at the club has been difficult from day one, and says the squad needs a revamp ahead of another season in the Championship.

Clubs that are still within the Football League that break FFP rules can be punished with various sanctions including the deduction of points and transfer embargoes, potentially restricting activity at Loftus Road this summer.

Chris Ramsey

"I think it is going to be dismantled. It has always been an ageing squad, particularly at the back.

"They've got to make sure they buy some really good young players, you would hate to think they are going to slip another division if they have problems financially and can't go and get transfers if they are embargoed.

"If [Ramsey] kept them up I think they would have given him the job without a doubt, but I think the consequence is are that he will go elsewhere.

"The bottom line is Chris has given everything he could give, it has always been difficult from day one at QPR."
