Oscar Threlkeld will be added to Plymouth's squad for their League One clash against Bradford City at Home Park on Saturday.
Threlkeld was ruled out of the 1-0 win away to Oxford United last weekend because of illness. However, the 23-year-old took a full part in all of the sessions at the Pilgrims' warm-weather training camp in Marbella this week.
Manager Derek Adams now has the option of playing Threlkeld at right-back and moving Zak Vyner inside to the centre of defence, although that would mean leaving out Yann Songo'o, who partnered Sonny Bradley in central defence against Oxford.
New Bradford boss Simon Grayson has been dealt a major blow with the news that defender Ryan McGowan has undergone knee surgery. McGowan revealed the news on Twitter yesterday evening, writing alongside a picture of himself recovering in hospital: "Op done and dusted….now time for recovery and rehab 24/7 until I'm back bashing around the pitch again #NewKnee."
Midfielder Jake Reeves continues to make progress after his groin injury but there is no timescale yet on his possible return. Defended Tyrell Robinson will be hoping for a place in the starting XI after scoring the equaliser in the 1-1 draw with Charlton just four minutes after coming off the bench.
The Pilgrims have lost one of their last 13 home league games against Bradford (W9 D3), a 5-1 hammering in August 1994.
Both sides have already won one game each in this fixture this season - Plymouth won the reverse league fixture, while Bradford won an FA Cup match.
Plymouth have won seven of their last eight league games at Home Park (L1); this after failing to win their previous eight beforehand (D2 L6).
Since their New Year's Day victory against Fleetwood, Bradford have picked up just two points from a possible 21 (D2 L5).
