City striker to gain first-team experience in Holland
Feyenoord have completed the signing of Manchester City striker John Guidetti on a season-long loan deal.
Guidetti resolved doubts about his long-term future in the summer by agreeing a fresh three-year contract with City after seemingly being close to joining Feyenoord's Eredivisie rivals FC Twente.
The 19-year-old made his debut for City in the Carling Cup last season and also spent time on loan in the Championship with Burnley.
He was linked with a move to Premier League new boys Queens Park Rangers earlier this summer, but has now completed a switch to Feyenoord.
The Swede watched last weekend's game against Heerenveen and the club's technical director Martin van Geel is happy to have landed Guidetti.
"We have never made a secret of the fact that, in an attacking aspect, we were still looking for reinforcements," Van Geel told the club's
official website.
"I'm glad we have signed a great talent in John. He will really complement Guyon Fernandes.
"Ronald Koeman wanted several types of striker and that is always nice for a coach."
