Striker considers options

French star Olivier Giroud has confirmed that Celtic and Middlesbrough are trying to clinch his signature. Giroud had previously stated that a move in January was unlikely, but that was followed by Tours director general Max Marty, who admitted they would be selling their prized asset in the New Year. Now Giroud admits that the interest is making him think about moving sooner than he originally had expected. A host of French clubs are hoping to persuade him to move to Ligue 1, but the interest from Celtic and Boro is making him think. "We're now at a stage where a lot of thinking has to be done. There is a lot of interest in me," he told La Nouvelle Republique. "Celtic and Middlesbrough are the most persistent but there is also interest from Montpellier, Valenciennes, Monaco and Toulouse. "On one hand I feel content here because, at Tours, I'm well protected. But, on the other, there are opportunities for me to go abroad or to play in Ligue 1 in January. "Most clubs want me for the start of 2010 because they need to reinforce their attacking options quickly, so they won't wait. "I could take up the opportunity to prove myself in Ligue 1 or move abroad quicker than expected."
