Gary Megson says he has 'no idea' about Alan Pardew's potential West Brom move

Gary Megson has remained coy on the vacant managerial position at West Brom, and suggested that he expects to leave the club when a new manager arrives at the Hawthorns.
West Brom sacked Tony Pulis last week with the club hovering just above the relegation zone, and appointed his assistant Megson as a temporary replacement.
Megson led the Baggies to an impressive 1-1 draw at Tottenham on Saturday, but it now appears that West Brom are close to appointing Alan Pardew as Pulis's successor.
When asked whether he thought Pardew would be a good appointment for the club, Megson said: "I've absolutely no idea.
"I'm just doing this job for as long as I'm told and we'll see what happens after that. I'll sure they'll take their time and get the person they want."
Megson, who managed West Brom between 2000 and 2004, was more expansive on his own future.
Discussing the potential of staying on as part of a new manager's backroom team, he said: "That's a conversation that might happen in the future.
"I said no at the time because I'm not here because of West Brom, I'm here because of Tony Pulis.
"What's happened is a sad thing. I've spoken to Tony nearly every day.
"I fully expect any manager that comes in to want to do things his own way."
With Pardew's appointment apparently close, Megson's last game in charge is likely to be the home game against Newcastle on Tuesday night.
