Southampton the latest club to be linked with attacker

Rayo Vallecano attacker Michu plans to hold talks about his future at the end of the season amid reported interest from the Premier League. Michu has scored an impressive 15 goals in La Liga this season after joining from Celta Vigo last summer and he has a further 12 months to run on his contract. The 26-year-old has a €6million (£4.9m) release clause in his contract and Vallecano's financial troubles may prompt his sale in the summer. Southampton, who won promotion to the Premier League last weekend, are the latest club to have been linked with a bid for Michu after Fulham, West Brom and Wigan were previously mooted as admirers. However, with Vallecano yet to mathematically confirm their Primera Liga status for next season, Michu is putting discussions about his future on hold. "I am calm," Michu told AS. "This season I have done very well and, when the season ends, I want to speak with the club. "Now, I am only focused on securing Rayo's mathematical survival." Vallecano are six points outside the bottom three with three games left to play and face Mallorca on Wednesday before rounding off the season against Sevilla and Granada.
