QPR striker vows to do his best to help avoid relegation
Queens Park Rangers striker DJ Campbell is hopeful of a return to action as soon as possible in order to try and help the club avoid relegation.
Campbell, a QPR fan, has endured a highly frustrating first season at Loftus Road with injury problems having restricted the former Blackpool man to just three starts.
Despite his misfortune, the 30 year-old is remaining optimistic and is aiming to make a first-team return sooner rather than later having recently resumed light training after a hamstring injury.
He told
The Fulham Chronicle: "My recovery's going really well and it shouldn't be long before I'm back in full training. It's been a disappointing season because of all the injuries, with my metatarsal and then my hamstring.
"I'm a QPR fan and it's been tough seeing us struggling, especially as I've been unable to do anything about it. Even when I have played I haven't been the same DJ as last season as I haven't been fully fit.
"But I've been doing extra work in the gym to make sure I come back stronger and fitter than ever for the run-in."
