Kasper Schmeichel says he dreamt of winning the Premier League title as a child but admits that the achievement still hasn't sunk in.
The Denmark international has been in sensational form this season - keeping 15 clean sheets to help the Foxes lift the first league title in club's 132-year history.
And the 29 year-old, son of legendary Danish shot-stopper Peter Schmeichel, says he always dreamt of emulating his father's success, achieved whilst at Manchester United.
"That is the just the beauty of football, anything can happen," said Kasper Schmeichel.
"You play football for these type of moments and that is what you dream of as a kid. This is a dream come true definitely. The trophy is a massive experience and it is all a bit of a blur.
"It is an amazing achievement, everyone is buzzing as you can see and we still haven't taken it in. It is a massive moment, there is no question, and something the whole city can be proud of."
Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri has transformed the Foxes from relegation candidates to title-winners inside one season.
However, Schmeichel also acknowledged the importance of Ranieri's predecessor, Nigel Pearson, who assembled the majority of the current Leicester squad.
"Claudio (Ranieri) has come in and inherited a well-assembled squad that Nigel Pearson had created with a good team atmosphere.
"He has built on that and tweaked it and put his own little stamp on it."
Schmeichel's father, Peter, was at the King Power Stadium last Saturday to watch the Foxes' 3-1 victory over Everton, and the wild title celebrations that followed the match.
And Schmeichel says the title victory is just rewards, not only for himself, but for his family.
"The family are the people who see you day in day out through all the bad times as well," he said.
"People see you for 90 minutes a week, they don't see the all the effort and time that goes into the weekend. They obviously have to make a lot of sacrifices time-wise and it is nice to be able to share it with the entire family."
Schmeichel and the rest of the Leicester squad travel to face last season's champions Chelsea in their final match of the season on Sunday.
