Brighton's left-back Seb Pocognoli put Brighton 2-0 up against QPR at Loftus Road with a superb free-kick

Sebastien Pocognoli scored a stunning free-kick for Brighton to help them on their way to a 2-1 victory over QPR on Friday night at Loftus Road.

Just a few minutes after Glenn Murray had given the Seagulls the lead in the Sky Bet Championship match, the left-back stepped up to curl an absolute peach of a free-kick past the helpless Alex Smithies in the QPR goal.

The strike was vital as Brighton returned to the top of the table above Newcastle, while the win also moved them 12 points clear of Huddersfield in third.

With five games to go now, Brighton appear in a great position to secure promotion to the Premier League, although they had a nervy final 15 minutes at Loftus Road after Matt Smith pulled one back for QPR.
