Roma have beaten the transfer deadline to sign Argentinian winger Diego Perotti on loan from Genoa.

The 27-year-old will represent the Giallorossi until June 2016 but could make his deal at the Stadio Olimpico permanent if Roma pay Genoa nine million euros (£6.8m).

A statement published on asroma.com confirmed Perotti, who has also played for Sevilla, had completed a medical with the Serie A club on Monday.

He said: "This is a very important step in my career. I'm glad to have joined a great team like Roma."

The Argentina international is expected to line up for Roma as they look for a second successive win under new coach Luciano Spalletti when they travel to Sassuolo on Tuesday.
