Full-back pens new deal but two depart
Bayern Munich have agreed to extend the contract of promising young defender Diego Contento.
The 20-year-old forced himself into Louis van Gaal's plans last season and has been rewarded with a new contract that will keep him the Allianz Arena until 2013.
The left-back made 14 appearances for Bayern in the Bundesliga, UEFA Champions League and German Cup after earning promotion from the reserve team in March.
Contento was an unused substitute in the Bavarian club's Champions League final defeat to Inter Milan on Saturday, but played in both of legs of the semi-final win over Lyon.
The German Under-20 international had a year left to run on his existing deal before the club moved quickly to secure his services for a further two seasons.
Free to leave
Munich have decided against renewing the deals of goalkeeper Michael Rensing and defender Andreas Gorlitz, though, with the pair free to leave the Bundesliga champions when their contracts expire next month.
Rensing has provided back-up to first choice German international Hans-Jorg Butt since losing his starting place last April and will leave after spending 10 years at the club.
Full-back Gorlitz has spent the past two seasons on loan at second-tier outfit Karlshruher before a return to Bayern last summer, but was restricted to reserve team appearances during the 2009/10 campaign.
