Preston v Wolves preview: Huntington and Gallagher could miss out for North End
Saturday 26 September 2015 15:27, UK
Paul Huntington and Paul Gallagher are Preston's biggest doubts for the home clash with Wolves in the Sky Bet Championship.
Defender Huntington missed the Capital One Cup loss to Bournemouth on Tuesday with a hamstring strain while forward Gallagher (calf) has not played since August.
Striker Joe Garner returns from a one-game suspension having been booked five times and Eoin Doyle, who was cup-tied in midweek, will also bolster Simon Grayson's attacking options.
Jermaine Beckford is a definite absentee for Grayson's squad with a long-term knee issue.
Skipper Danny Batth is set to return for Wolves after recovering from a broken foot.
The defender suffered a stress fracture in April but is in contention to make his first appearance of the season at Deepdale.
Dave Edwards is sidelined for weeks, risking his spot in the Wales squad for their final Euro 2016 qualifiers, with a knee injury suffered last week.
Conor Coady is also suspended following his straight red card in the 0-0 draw with Brighton at the weekend.
Preston v Wolves odds
Wolves are the outsiders at 19/10 with Sky Bet for three points at Preston on Saturday. Hosts North End have been made the 7/5 favourites to win and the draw can be backed at 9/4.
Four of the last five Wolves matches have contained exactly three goals and Sky Bet make it 3/1 that exactly three goals are scored in this clash. Wolves striker Benik Afobe heads the first goalscorer betting at 5/1 and his fellow Molineux striker Adam Le Fondre can be supported at 13/2 to open the scoring. Joe Garner is the top Preston contender to net first at 11/2.
