Remembrance Day is acknowledged at sporting events around the UK

Respects were paid at Remembrance Sunday services across the country, including Truce Tournament Qualifiers at Wolverhampton and Aldershot

The world of sport paid their respects to the fallen on Remembrance Sunday.

Her Majesty the Queen led the nation's tributes at the Cenotaph in London's Whitehall on Sunday morning. In the afternoon, sports fans remembered those who have lost their lives in war at events and matches around the UK. 

At London's Olympic Stadium, a minute's silence was held before England's rugby league international against Australia.

In Edinburgh, Hearts laid a wreath at their annual service at the Haymarket memorial.

Premier League academy players laid wreaths and took part in 'Truce Tournament Qualifiers' at military bases around the country.

Silences were observed before all Sunday's EFL games, plus rugby union's Anglo-Welsh Cup matches.

In France similar tributes were paid on the first anniversary of last November's terrorist attacks in Paris.

A silence was observed ahead of Top 14 rugby matches around France.
