Defender ends short stay at the Reebok
Gerald Cid looks set to end his disappointing spell at Bolton by completing a move to Ligue 1 side Nice.
The French defender arrived at the Reebok from Bordeaux during the summer on a four-year contract but after just 14 appearances for the Trotters he has decided to return to his homeland.
Cid is believed to have completed a medical at Stade Symphorien on Friday and agreed in theory to a three-and-a-half year deal.
Nice are currently pushing for a European spot in the French top-flight, and Cid could go straight into the squad for their game against Nancy on Sunday.
Important step
"I am happy because I wanted to return to France in the transfer window," he told
L'Equipe.
"I didn't play much in England but I discovered a new country, a new league and it is an important step for me.
"At Nice, I will not be lost. I already know Lilian Laslandes and Cyril Rool and that will allow me to integrate quicker.
"I can't wait to make my return."
