The Portuguese midfielder has moved to Giuseppe Meazza until the end of the season with the option of a permanent deal.
The Italian champions swooped for Maniche to supplement a midfield weakened by several injuries.
Maniche will train with his new team-mates on Tuesday afternoon and will be presented to the media on Wednesday.
His departure from Atletico could prompt the Spanish side to step up their reported interest in Liverpool's unsettled midfielder Mohamed Sissoko.
