Kazmierczak joins on loan from Porto

Derby County have continued their recruitment drive by signing Poland international Przemyslaw Kazmierczak. The midfielder has moved to Pride Park on loan from Porto and becomes the 11th new face in Paul Jewell's squad this summer. Earlier on Monday, Rams boss Jewell had completed a deal for Rob Hulse and is now happy to have brought in Kazmierczak. "This is a very good deal for Derby County and a signing that I think may well prove to be a great piece of business," Jewell told the club's official website.

Terrific pedigree

"Kaz has a terrific pedigree. He has experienced Champions League football and international football, as well as playing for Porto, one of the biggest clubs in Europe. "He is a left-footed central midfielder who can certainly play, but at the same time is very strong and very physical. "I think he is perfectly suited for English football." Kazmierczak, who plays in a holding midfield role, only joined Porto last summer from Boavista and has made nine appearances for Poland.
