Inter Milan boss Jose Mourinho has assured fans he is happy at the club while also hinting changes are needed.
Special one a reported target for Spanish giants Real Madrid
Inter Milan boss Jose Mourinho has assured fans he is happy at the San Siro but hinted he needs more players in order to fully commit to the club.
Mourinho, who has led Inter to the Serie A title in his debut season, alarmed fans this week when he admitted he was only 99.9 per cent sure to still be at the club next season amid reported interest from Real Madrid.
The Spanish giants are yet to offer short-term manager Juande Ramos an extension after he failed to overhaul Barcelona's grip on the Primera Liga, and they reportedly have Mourinho in their sights.
However, the former Chelsea boss has rejected such reports and has played down his comments from last week, insisting that only minor changes are needed for him to be completely committed to the cause.
"In life nothing is certain but I said 99.9 not 99. Yes 99.9 is different from 100, there's a tiny bit of temptation. I'm not a person to hide things.
"I want to transform this 99.9 percent into 100. Little things are needed."
Options
Speaking of his options, Mourinho highlighted that past experiences are the reason he will always keep an open mind to offers from major clubs.
"What does 99.9 mean? It means I'm happy. I'd like to carry on in this difficult job, the easy one (option) would be to win the Scudetto and say goodbye, the difficult one is to continue.
"I'm very keen to stay. But temptation is a temptation, I never hide that, one of my biggest mistakes in football was to stay at Chelsea.
"After my second year when I was champion and I had the chance to go for a different club, a really big one. So it's a little tempting but when I say 99.9 it's because I want to give myself that 0.1 percent."
Mourinho was also keen to point out that the club were moving in the right direction as the double signing of Diego Milito and Thiago Motta from Genoa is almost complete, as Inter hope to challenge for the UEFA Champions League next season.
"I'm happy at Inter. The club is working, we've practically signed two players. I like the people that work with me, I like the people around me, I like the players' mentality, I like the approach of the president now."
