Chris Iwelumo has vowed to fight for his place in the Wolves team as they prepare for life back in the Premier League.
The Scottish international netted 16 goals last term as Wolves clinched the Championship title but he missed the end of season run in through injury, placing his future as a key man in doubt.
Boss Mick McCarthy is expected to dive into the transfer market to cope with the top flight demands, and with competition up front from Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, Andy Keogh and Sam Voke, Iwelumo admits he faces a challenge to get back into the side.
"We've got Sylvan, Sam Vokes, Andy Keogh and myself but I'm sure the gaffer will have his eyes on a couple more - if it is a couple," he told
Birmingham Mail.
"It might sound strange but any new faces will be welcomed with open arms. Competition is healthy - no one here is scared of it.
Hunger
The club last made the step up to the Premier League through the playoffs in 2003 under Dave Jones, and Iwelumo promises the players' hunger to stay in the top division next year will be as big as their title ambitions this term.
"It was fantastic but no one will be resting on their laurels and let this achievement be enough," he said.
"Everyone at the club wants to achieve something and staying in the best league in the world is a massive achievement. That now has to be the main thing."
