Hoffenheim calm over Eduardo

Hoffenheim are not worried about the prospect of losing Brazilian schemer Carlos Eduardo in January.

Brazilian schemer continues to attract interest

Hoffenheim insist they are not worried about the prospect of losing Brazilian schemer Carlos Eduardo in the January transfer window. Eduardo has established himself as an integral member of the Hoffenheim side since moving to Germany from Gremio in 2007. He was linked with Valencia, Wolfsburg and Zenit St Petersburg in the summer, but opted to sign a one-year extension to his contract to stay at Hoffenheim until 2013. Further interest is expected in the New Year and, while Hoffenheim hope to keep the 22-year-old, they are confident they will be suitably compensated should Eduardo decide to go. "We are not afraid of losing him," Hoffenheim general manager Jan Schindelmeiser told Bild. "He is under contract and we would have to sit down if a big club comes in. "You cannot rule this out, we have already had some enquiries for him, but his contract is done in a way that we would not have disadvantage by losing him."
