Blanc replaces Cobolli Gigli as president of Serie A giants

Jean-Claude Blanc has been named as the new president of Juventus. The 46-year-old, who was previously general manager of the Serie A giants, takes over from Giovanni Cobolli Gigli. Blanc has a long history of managing sporting organistions, including being the general manager / CEO of the French Tennis Federation from 2001 to 2006. Welcoming his new role, Blanc told shareholders of the club: "We want to win and to this end we have built a staff, because a modern club must be managed by a group and not one person alone. "On the football plan we have changed scheme. We are not at the top now, but I'm convinced we have the right side to achieve great results." Out-going president Cobolli Gigli thanked everyone who helped during his three years in the role, including those players who stayed loyal to the club when it was relegated to Serie B for the first time in its history in 2006 in the wake of Italy's match fixing scandal.
