Milan have won the Fifa World Club Championship after cruising to 4-2 final victory over Boca Juniors at the International stadium in Yokohama. Two goals from Filippo Inzaghi and strikes from Alessandro Nesta and Kaka handed the UEFA Champions League holders the victory as Boca could only respond through Rodrigo Palacio and a late own goal by Massimo Ambrosini. Inzaghi opened the scoring for Carlo Ancelotti's men on 21 minutes as the Italian's enjoyed the better of the opening stages. However, two minutes later Palacio headed in to restore parity for the Argentinean side.

      Dominant

Five minutes after the interval though, Milan centre-back Nesta was on hand to convert and put his side back in front. Milan then dominated and they did not have to wait long to extend their lead as European Footballer of the Year Kaka added a third on 65 minutes. Inzaghi made it four nine minutes later when he fired his second of the game to effectively secure the victory for Milan. Ancelotti was forced to watch his team survive a late scare as Kakha Kaladze was shown a straight red card for a professional foul by referee Marco Rodriguez and Ambrosini netted an 85th minute own goal, but Boca had substitute Pablo Ledesma dismissed with two minutes remaining to rule out an unlikely comeback.
      Hero
Earlier in the day Japan's Urawa Reds defeated Tunisia's Etoile Sportive du Sahel on penalties to claim third place in the competition. The game had ended 2-2 after normal time, but then Urawa won 4-2 on penalties. A fifth minute Saber Frej penalty gave Etoile the lead, but then Washington Cerqueira - playing in his final game for Urawa - hit a brace (35 and 70) to put his side in front. Chermit Amine sent the game to penalties with his 75th minute goal and Urawa goalkeeper Ryota Suzuki was then the hero as he saved Mjedi Traouis' spot kick after Mohamed Ali Nafkha had hit the post. Much to the delight of Ancelotti, who welcomed the win telling Italian media: "It has been a quite difficult match especially in the first half. But in the second half we have been simply perfect". Brazilian playmaker Kaka, who inspired Milan to victory, echoed his manager's thoughts. "It has been a sensational year for me and Milan. We won everything and I'm really happy for me and my team-mates," he said.
