Accrington Stanley's four-match unbeaten run came to an end after a 2-1 home defeat by Bury.

Visitors claim derby honours

Two goals in three minutes from Michael Jones and Brian Barry-Murphy ended Accrington's four-match unbeaten league run and gave derby rivals Bury a 2-1 win. The Shakers opened the scoring in the 35th minute when Andy Bishop crossed dangerously and Jones headed home his second goal of the campaign. Their advantage was doubled three minutes later when Glynn Hurst fed Barry-Murphy and he side-footed the ball past Kenny Arthur. Stanley manager John Coleman was sent to the stands by referee Lee Probert for protesting against a decision on 40 minutes. Coleman's misery was compounded on the stroke of half-time when Wayne Brown saved a penalty from John Mullin after Efe Sodje brought down Gregg Blundell. Substitute Jamie Clarke converted from the spot on 79 minutes to give Stanley late hope but Bury held on.
