Captain Andy Procter's injury-time winner helped Accrington Stanley beat JPT holders Carlisle 3-2 at the Crown Ground.

Peter Murphy and James Berrett saw red for second bookable offences for the League One side, who had reached the final in the last two years. Craig Lindfield opened the scoring for Stanley after 35 minutes when a Luke Joyce free-kick caught out the defence and the striker pounced to fire home his first goal since August 2010. It went from bad to worse for Greg Abbott's side when defender Murphy was sent off three minutes before the break. Abbott introduced substitutes Rory Loy and Jon-Paul McGovern at the break and they made a difference. Loy tested Stanley goalkeeper Ian Dunbavin with a 30-yard drive and they grabbed a 61st-minute equaliser when a dangerous Berrett corner bounced around the area and McGovern rifled home from 10 yards through a crowd of bodies. Seven minutes later and another Berrett corner found the head of Francois Zoko at the far post and he made no mistake. Berrett then saw red for Carlisle and Stanley levelled four minutes from time when a Joyce ball in was flicked on by Procter and Padraig Amond fired home his first goal for the club. In a grandstand finish, Procter grabbed the winner with a diving header from six yards.
