Goalkeeper the hero with late penalty save

Veteran goalkeeper Tony Roberts marked his 400th appearance for Dagenham with a last-gasp penalty save as his side drew 0-0 at Accrington. The 39-year-old dived low to keep out Andy Procter's penalty after Magnus Okuonghae had handballed in the area. It was a second penalty miss in two games for midfielder Procter and denied Stanley a vital three points in their battle against the drop. Roberts was the hero of the first half denying John Paul Kissock in the third minute and parrying away a Craig Lindfield strike as the Reds dominated the first half. Procter also volleyed over for the Reds and Roberts was finally beaten by Paul Mullin but the frontman could only watch as his strike hit the crossbar and bounced to safety. The Daggers upped the pace after the break with winger Sam Saunders their main threat and he tested Reds keeper Kenny Arthur with a series of corners which the stopper had to tip away. But neither side could make the breakthrough and, despite the Daggers being one of the top scorers in the league, the two teams fought out their second goalless draw of the season.
