African Nations Cup hosts held on home turf

African Nations Cup hosts Angola extended their unbeaten run to nine matches as they drew 0-0 with Ghana in a friendly at Cidadela Stadium. The visitors were missing established players such as Michael Essien, Sulley Muntari and Asamoah Gyan, with coach Milovan Rajevac giving some of his younger squad members a chance to impress. And there was no return to the Angola team for striker Manucho Goncalves, who was axed by boss Manuel Jose after arriving late for training last month. There was precious little to interest the fans in the first half, with the only excitement provided by the match balls being parachuted into the stadium from a helicopter hovering overhead. The match improved after the interval with Ghana goalkeeper Daniel Agyei being kept on his toes by the Angola attack, but neither side could break the deadlock.
