Cristiano Ronaldo then fired home the only goal of the night on 23 minutes, supplying a close-range finish to Sergio Ramos' deflected low cross. Left with a huge mountain to climb to get back into the tie, Atletico lacked any inspiration for the remainder of the match as Real coasted through to the final whistle to set up a showdown against holders Sevilla in the last four. Barcelona will face Almeria in the other semi-final after both sides sealed their progression on Wednesday evening.
