Forbes strike clinches point for Grimsby

Adrian Forbes' stunning overhead kick earned Grimsby a 3-3 in a topsy-turvy clash with Barnet at Underhill. Millwall loanee Forbes grabbed his first Grimsby goal 12 minutes from time after John O'Flynn thought he had won it for Barnet with a second-half penalty. The home side earlier went ahead on 18 minutes when on-loan Plymouth man Yannick Bolasie skipped past a backpedalling Jamie Clarke before slamming a low shot past Phil Barnes. And just two minutes later the Bees doubled their lead when 40-year-old frontman Paul Furlong headed home the impressive Albert Adomah's corner. Grimsby finally sprang into life in the 25th minute when Barnet's Israeli keeper Ran Kadoch flapped at former Barnet midfielder Dean Sinclair's corner and Mariners skipper Ryan Bennett headed home. And Sinclair was at it again for the visitors' equaliser, whipping a left-footed cross to the back post where Stuart Elliot was on hand to head home the second goal of his loan spell from Doncaster. Barnet roared out of the blocks in the second half and O'Flynn made it 10 for the season from the spot after Joe Widdowson had brought down Adomah but Forbes had the last laugh when he spectacularly converted after a long throw from Robert Atkinson.
