Highlights from the Sky Bet League Two match between Barnet and Luton

John Akinde scored an injury-time penalty as Barnet dented Luton's outside chance of a play-off spot with a 2-1 victory.

The striker sent Jonathan Mitchell the wrong way from the spot in the fifth minute of time added on following a handball by Hatters captain Scott Cuthbert.

Cameron McGeehan looked to have earned a point for Town, who are now eight points off the top seven, by cancelling out Luke Gambin's opener five minutes from time.

The Hatters had the better opportunities of a goalless first half and Bees goalkeeper Graham Stack was forced to beat away powerful drives from Jack Marriott and McGeehan.

Barnet, who failed to register an effort on target in the opening 45 minutes, took the lead four minutes after the restart when winger Gambin cut in from the right and curled a low left-footed shot into the far corner from 20 yards.

In-form Hatters forward Marriott, searching for his sixth goal in eight games, had the ball in the net in the 57th minute but was denied by an offside flag.

The visitors were finally rewarded for their second-half pressure when McGeehan smashed into the roof of the net after Stack saved Cuthbert's initial header.
