Another debut for Macken, Watson back for visitors

Jon Macken is poised to start for Barnsley at Oakwell, while Kevin Watson is available again for Colchester United. Barnsley completed a permanent deal for Macken on Monday and the striker should feature on Tuesday, having previously spent two months on loan from Derby. Macken is expected to partner Daniel Nardiello up front, while winger Martin Devaney is also available after missing the FA Cup win over Southend through illness. Marciano Van Homoet is expected to shake off the calf problem he picked up at Southend, although Rob Kozluk is on stand-by.

Colchester news

The Championship's bottom club head to Oakwell with Watson back in Geraint Williams' squad. The midfielder has been out for a month with a calf injury, while Teddy Sheringham and Karl Duguid are also pressing for a recall. Pat Baldwin will have a fitness test on a knee injury to determine whether the defender can figure. Dean Gerken is fully recovered after his recent injury, but veteran goalkeeper Aidan Davison is still hampered by a shoulder problem.
