Bradford's promotion hopes suffered another blow as they went down to their fourth defeat in 11 days, losing 1-0 to Port Vale at Valley Parade.
Vale's winner came four minutes after half-time when Paul Marshall intercepted a ball in midfield and evaded a tackle from defender Matt Clarke before passing to the unmarked David Howland to score from 10 yards.
Stuart McCall's side dominated possession and Michael Boulding, skipper Graeme Lee and Steve Jones all went close to scoring but Vale held firm to record their sixth away win of the season.
Boulding's close-range effort was blocked, Lee headed over from six yards, while Jones saw a drilled effort well-held by Joe Anyon.
