Promotion rivals produce stalemate

Bradford played out a 0-0 draw with promotion rivals Shrewsbury in a tense struggle at Valley Parade. Third-placed Bradford, who went into the match two points clear of the visitors, had most of the play in the first half and almost took the lead in the eighth minute when Barry Conlon fired against a post. Keeper Luke Daniels also saved from Omar Daley, Michael Boulding and Nicky Law as Bradford continued to dominate. Paul McLaren sliced the ball wide for Bradford in the second half after Daley created the opening, and Shrewsbury's leading scorer Grant Holt forced a good save out of home keeper Rhys Evans after Steve Leslie's shot was blocked. Holt also had a penalty claim turned down as Shrews looked to grab all three points.
