The visitors took the lead two minutes after half-time following a bad mistake from defender Graeme Lee.
The Bradford captain allowed a through ball from Lee Beevers to roll into the path of Andy Hutchison and he took advantage to fire past keeper Rhys Evans.
Stuart McCall's Bradford almost equalised after 59 minutes when Steve Jones' header was deflected on to the crossbar.
