He did not have to wait too long to double his tally, though, pouncing on a loose ball to net after El-Shanawi had kept out a Bruno Cesar free-kick that had been deflected by Fernandinho.
With a two-goal cushion, Brazil started to cut loose and Hernanes went close after more good work from Fernandinho, while Kleber worked the impressive El-Shanawi with a late header.
