Bees can't find buzz at home

Brentford's dismal home form continued with a scrappy 0-0 draw against 10-man Scunthorpe, who had Andrew Wright sent off.

Uwe Rosler's Bees rarely looked like ending their disappointing run at Griffin Park as the Iron cancelled them out in a dour midfield battle. The visitors always looked more likely to break the deadlock in the first half, Shane Duffy forcing a reflex save from Bees goalkeeper Richard Lee and Chris Dagnall volleying over from close range after good work down the flank. The closest Brentford came was when Celtic loan star Niall McGinn saw his low drive tipped wide by Scunthorpe goalkeeper Sam Johnstone after a driving run. McGinn was the only real threat, but his low cross just before the hour mark eluded David Clarkson and when the ball was swung back in from the opposite flank his glancing header drifted agonisingly wide. Brentford threatened late on, but Johnstone was again equal to two headers from Marcus Bean and Scunthorpe's point was all the more deserved after Wright was sent off with just under 20 minutes remaining for two bookable offences.
