Humphrey strike denies Bees

Chris Humphrey struck 10 minutes from time to earn Shrewsbury a 1-1 draw in an ill-tempered affair at Brentford. The substitute latched on to a cross-field ball just minutes after entering the fray and fired a low drive into the bottom corner to earn the visitors an unlikely point. Brentford had taken the lead just seven minutes earlier, Charlie MacDonald seizing on a Marvin Williams cross to turn and shoot into the bottom corner. The only surprise in this game was that both sides managed to end it with 11 men and erratic referring saw Graham Coughlan booked for a last-man handball when Ben Davies was the culprit. Shrewsbury's Grant Holt was the liveliest in the first half which saw the best chance find the side-netting. Brentford's John Halls came closest for the hosts just after the break with a 30 yard drive which just cleared the angle.
