Jamie Devitt's late free-kick earned Carlisle a 1-1 draw at home to League Two promotion rivals Exeter.
Nicky Law gave the visitors a half-time lead, but Devitt's 78th-minute effort kept the Cumbrians one point ahead of their opponents.
Exeter dominated early on and Jonathan Forte had two chances in the first 10 minutes. The first was a shot across the face of goal, before his close-range effort was instinctively parried by Carlisle goalkeeper Adam Collin.
The Grecians finally got their reward in the 19th minute after Tom Parkes fouled Forte 20 yards from goal. Law fired the free-kick against the wall, but when the ball came back to him he hit an unstoppable left-footed effort into the net.
Carlisle looked for an equaliser but visiting keeper Christy Pym turned away a thunderous effort by Parkes and debutant Nathan Thomas was off target soon after.
The hosts continued to press in the second half and Hallam Hope hit the crossbar with a terrific 30-yard shot with 16 minutes left.
And the pressure told four minutes later when Devitt curled a free-kick around the wall and into the bottom left corner.
Carlisle battled on for a winner, but the visitors held firm for a share of the points.
