Leyton Orient secured a fourth win in six games under Geraint Williams as they beat Carlisle 3-1.

Williams' honeymoon period continues

Leyton Orient cruised to a fourth win in six games under new manager Geraint Williams as they outplayed Carlisle to claim a 3-1 victory. The visitors were 2-0 ahead at half-time with goals from Charlie Daniels and veteran Scott McGleish - his fourth in six games. Simon Church added a third straight after the restart, leaving the Cumbrians staring at a fifth successive home game without a win. Scott Dobie pulled one back for Carlisle 12 minutes from time, but despite a flurry of attacks, Carlisle had left it too late to seriously worry the visitors. Orient took a firm grip on the game from the off and it was no surprise when Daniels pounced on a square ball from McGleish to lash home a powerful shot from 12 yards to put the visitors in front in the 29th minute. Carlisle's defence was caught out again in the 35th minute when Jason Demetriou picked out Smith with a superb cross-field pass. Smith, from close to the byline, fed in a pinpoint cross and McGleish stole unmarked into the six-yard box to side-foot home. It got better still for Orient five minutes into the second half when Smith cut the ball back for Church to neatly slot home, making Dobie's 15-yard strike a mere consolation for the Cumbrians.
