Park Chu-Young came off the bench to score the winner as Celta Vigo defeated Getafe 2-1 at Balaidos.

On-loan Arsenal striker Park Chu-Young came off the bench to score the winner as Celta Vigo defeated Getafe 2-1 at Balaidos. Celta missed a host of opportunities to take the lead in the first half but eventually went in front after the break as Michael Krohn-Dehli released Augusto Fernandez to fire home. Going behind seemed to arouse Getafe from their slumber and they responded immediately as Abdel Barrada rattled in his third goal in four games two minutes later. But it was the Korean who had the final say when he converted at the back post from another Krohn-Dehli cross 22 minutes from time, with the visitors ending the game with 10 men as Alexis was sent off for striking Hugo Mallo. A third defeat in five means that Getafe's shock victory over Real Madrid remains their only triumph so far this season. The game started brightly and both sides could have scored within five minutes as Iago Aspas teed up Mario Bermejo inside the area but he shot wide. At the other end, Alvaro Vasquez failed to mark his Getafe debut with a goal as he fired meekly into the hands of Javi Varas. Aspas came close again moments later when his shot was turned onto a post by Miguel Angel Moya before Bermejo's goalbound effort flicked off Alberto Lopo and went behind for a corner. Bermejo had an even better opportunity seconds before the interval as he blazed over from Krohn-Dehli's cross. But the Dane was at the heart of everything the hosts did and his patience and poise created the opener just before the hour mark. The former Brondby man carried the ball almost the full length of the field after Celta broke from a Getafe corner, before sliding a ball through for Fernandez to smash home his first goal since joining from Velez Sarsfield. The lead only lasted two minutes, though, as the visitors launched another attack and Diego Castro squared for Barrada to fire into the roof of the net. Aspas missed a glorious opportunity to restore Celta's lead as he scuffed wide at full stretch after Bermejo's clever reverse pass had left him with an open goal It fell to Park to find a winner and the Korean made an instant impact by prodding home another sumptuous cross from Krohn-Dehli with his first touch. And Park should have had a second with four minutes remaining, brilliantly controlling Fernandez's pass but pulling his shot wide when one-on-one with Moya. Celta boss Paco Herrera was then sent to the stands, with Alexis seeing red in stoppage time, but the hosts held on to register their second win of the season.
