Abbott strikes twice in 2-1 win for Darlington
Chester ended their five-year tenure in League Two with a whimper as they were beaten 2-1 by Darlington.
The Blues needed to win their last game by a cricket score to have a chance of staying up but the game showed just why they deserve to go down.
Pawel Abbott scored twice in the second half to bring the curtain down on Chester's time in the league.
Abbott struck first after 71 minutes but Darlington were pegged back a minute from time when Ian Miller headed into his own net.
But Abbott had the final say with the winning goal in added time to secure a deserved win for the visitors.
