Colchester continued their impressive start to the season with a comprehensive 3-0 home win over Cambridge.
Sammie Szmodics and Harry Pell both threatened for Colchester early on but at the other end, keeper Dillon Barnes denied Cambridge's George Maris and from the resultant corner, Brennan Dickenson hacked Greg Taylor's header off the line.
The hosts took a 23rd-minute lead through Szmodics, who clinically slotted in from close range after Luke Norris had helped on a ball into the Cambridge area.
Barnes denied Jabo Ibehre before Frank Nouble raced onto Norris's flick and drilled powerfully in to double Colchester's lead 10 minutes before half-time.
Barnes denied David Amoo and Dickenson cleared Taylor's effort off the line, early in the second half.
But Nouble, Szmodics and Norris all went close before substitute Courtney Senior wrapped up Colchester's win with 10 minutes remaining when he got the better of George Taft just inside the visitors' half before advancing towards goal and slotting past David Forde, to wrap up the hosts' win.
