Purdie in fine form in emphatic win
Robert Purdie's brace spearheaded a devastating first-half Darlington display as they hammered Luton 5-1.
Purdie converted a 10th-minute penalty after being brought down by George Beavan, before netting his second with a neat header 14 minutes later.
Liam Hatch made it three just a minute later with a clinical direct free-kick.
And amazingly Neil Austin netted in the 28th minute, slotting a left-foot effort into the bottom corner to make it three goals in as many minutes.
Luton quickly pulled one back when Chris Martin connected with Kevin Gallen's cross.
Gregg Blundell scored the only goal of the second half, drilling home from Pawel Abbott's right-wing cross.
