An entertaining 0-0 draw between Darlington and Morecambe had everything but goals as the mid-table duo were forced to settle for a share of the spoils.
Darlington strikers Pawel Abbott and Liam Hatch kept the Morecambe defence on their toes throughout while Shrimps striker Rene Howe missed a bagful of chances.
The action started early when Morecambe keeper Barry Roche kept out Ian Miller's header in the third minute while the visitors saw a Wayne Curtis header and a Stewart Drummond volley drift narrowly wide.
In the 25th minute Howe struck the bar with a bicycle kick from 12 yards out and then appealed for a penalty following a hefty challenge from Darlington keeper Przemyslaw Kazimierczak.
Howe then had a shot tipped away by Kazimierczak in the 38th minute and also saw his shot deflected inches wide by Alan White in the 55th minute.
Abbott had a shot pushed away by Roche in the 71st minute and in time added on poked the ball wide after being left unmarked at the far post.
